CAC/PIV Solutions

Tx Systems provides a variety of access control solutions that were specifically created to be used with CAC and PIV cards.

CAC (Common Access Cards)and PIV cards (Personal Identity Verification) were created and implemented in 2004 with the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12). The sole purpose was to create a secure interoperable federally issued ID badge for all U.S. government employees. These cards can be leveraged to provide secure building access, PC/network access, and a variety of other authentication purposes.

Identive's PACT Physical Access readers are a versatile and cost effective solutions to secure access to business, healthcare and government campuses and buildings. The readers feature contact ISO7816 and contactless ISO14443 (13.56MHz) smart card interfaces and a combination of both technologies, as well as a PIN pad.

PACT readers are available in different configurations for indoor and outdoor usage. The concept allows to replace legacy systems while leveraging new and more secure credential technologies without the need to change existing infrastructure and wiring.

These readers are designed to work with the pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM) to meet the assurance level requirements defined in NIST Special Publication 800-116 and in the federal government’s FICAM E-PACS guidelines.
